The High Victorian Picturesque home was built in 1886 for Henry Wilson, a general store merchant in the village. When you go back to the Markham Museum, you will find The Wilson Emporium which used to sit just to the north of his house. We will hear more of Henry Wilson as we walk down the street. In 1917, Dr. John McDonald purchased it for use as his home and office and later that of his daughter, Dr. Innis McDonald, who was also instrumental in the creation of the C.N.I.B. It was here that Mr. Stonehouse and his son Jim was brought after an altercation with the notorious Red Ryan, but more about that later in the tour.
