The Railway Area
The Locust Hill Station built in 1936 is the youngest historic building at the Museum. It was originally located in Locust Hill, east of the Museum on Highway # 7. The Official Car Acadia, was built by the Canadian Car and Foundry Company in 1921 and began service in 1922. It began transporting other government officials and special guests in 1958. The caboose , built in 1944 is similar to wooden cabooses used form the 1880’s until 1947 when steel cabooses came into use. The Canadian Pacific Snow Plow, built in 1926, is the most recent arrival to the Museum, arriving in 1992. The Crossing Signal 1932 completes the railway area.
