This “Ontario Vernacular with Queen Anne Revival Features” home was built for David G Fretz, a Mennonite carpenter who worked at the Speight Wagon Works. Later the Tunney family owned this for 32 years. Wilfred Tunney was wounded in Dieppe in WWII, and spent the period from 1942 until the end of the war in a Prisoner of War Camp in Silesia, Poland.
