Milne Creek was approved by the Ontario Geographic Names Board at its 122nd meeting held on April 18, 2006. It reviewed the application of the Town of Markham and the results of the Ministry’s corresponding questionnaire survey against Board principles. The results of their deliberations were to Officially Approve the name. The rationale was documented evidence of established current local usage.
