The only reference that I’ve been able to find for Denison Avenue is to Major George T. Denison of the Queen’s Light Dragoons. In July of 1838, Captain Francis Button assembled some of his troop of Markham Cavalry attached to the 3rd North York Regiment of Militia and rode into Toronto to offer their services, which were gratefully accepted. They were attached to Major George T. Denison’s troops, Queen’s Light Dragoons and spent the month of July 1838, on full time duty.
