John Jacob was a reformer and friend of William Lyon Mackenzie.   Architectural Attributes Originally constructed of unburned clay brick in the Georgian Cottage style, this house was later covered with wood siding. The verandah and gothic window are recent restorations of the originals, based on a historic photograph.
