This house was built c.1905 in the Edwardian Classical style by the Burk family from the rural hamlet of Mongolia, Markham Twp.

Their daughter married a prominent Markham lawyer, Amos Ferrier Wilson. Later, the Huffman family that ran the Markham Hardware store lived here. From 1931 to 1985, Peter Stewart and his sister-in-law Mrs. John Stewart owned the house.
