The Lewis house is a fine example of the Ontario Cottage Style of farmhouse, built in the mid 1800’s. This one and a half story red brick house displays elements of the Regency and Classic Revival styles. Richard Lewis was killed while blasting stone to be used in the construction of the foundation. His son Joseph completed the house about 1845. Its original location was at 3143 19th Avenue in the community of Gormley.
